IPL Skin Rejuvenation

IPL Fast Facts

IPL Skin Rejuvenation is great for sun damage, pigmentation (including freckles, sun and age spots), broken capillaries (telangiectasia), rosacea and redness, collagen stimulation and general rejuvenation.

Areas treated typically include the face, neck, chest (décolletage), back, shoulders and hands.

Associated ‘down time’ with this treatment ranges from 1 – 10 days, depending on the pigment present and area treated. (You can still carry on daily duties, using make up to cover any flushing if desired).

The results achieved are long-lasting, but individual results may vary. Many clients like to have a treatment annually for the collagen stimulation effects.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation is known as a few different names: Intense Pulsed Light Rejuvenation, Photo Rejuvenation, Laser Rejuvenation, Photo-facial, Foto-facial and IPL Rejuvenation.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation

The process induces controlled wounds on the skin, prompting it to heal itself by creating new cells. The same treatment can be used effectively on all areas of the body.

IPL skin rejuvenation treatments can be effectively used to treat:

Freckles, sunspots and other pigmented areas

Broken capillaries and any redness

Acne (the light energy destroys the acne bacteria in your skin)

Uneven colouring

Sun damage

Stubborn melasma

Safe and effective when operated by a highly trained and qualified technicians that provide one of the most effective skin rejuvenation treatments.

IPL Photrejuvenation

What is it?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photo-rejuvenation is a non-invasive way to treat skin damage with minimal down time. IPL dramatically improves the appearance of broken capillaries (including rosacea), redness, age spots, acne, sun-induced freckles, and pigmentation, and can be incredibly effective in the treatment of acne. IPL photo rejuvenation in Perth has amazing results on the face, neck, décolletage, back, shoulders, hands – and all over the body!

How does it work?

IPL uses light to absorb melanin (the dark pigment in your hair and skin) and haemoglobin (the red colour in your blood vessels). The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by either the blood, when treating vascular lesions, or the melanin when treating pigmented lesions damaging them. The body’s natural processes then remove the injured tissue giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance.

What to expect:

Your treatment will start with your Therapist talking to you about your skin concerns, and performing a thorough skin analysis.

To start, a cold gel is usually applied to the area to be treated, and you will be given dark glasses/eye shields to protect your eyes. The smooth glass surface of the IPL hand piece (with an inbuilt chiller to help cool the surface of your skin) is gently rested on your skin and you will be notified by your Therapist when the pulses of light are applied. You may feel a slight sting, like the snapping of a small rubber band which can be painful, but only lasts a fraction of a second. The treatment is relatively quick in time to perform and for a full face may only take approx. 20 minutes.

The appearance right after treatment is similar to what you will see after a good exercise workout. The flushing and redness will last from a few minutes to several hours after the treatment. If your skin is quite loose you may experience some swelling. If you have any brown spots or uneven pigmentation, they will turn slightly darker after your treatment and eventually fall away or shed after a week or so.

It is difficult to give a precise exactness as each person and skin is so very different. A distinct change is however always noticeable and your expected results will be discussed during your thorough consultation.
